Tolga Uzel
Tolga Uzel graduated from Kadıköy Anatolian High School in 1995 and from Yıldız Technical University with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 2002. Uzel had worked in customer service, project management assistant and quality control management positions for three years.
In 2005, Uzel started a 15-year career at a leading, international company of industrial mineral industry. In a wide geography, Uzel worked in order as; Sales Engineer in Paints, Coatings and Adhesives Division (PCA) responsible for the Turkish market, Country Sales Manager in the Paper Division , Area Sales Manager in Turkey, Caucasus, Middle East and Egypt, Sales Director in the Industrial Forest Products Division in Turkey, Caucasus, Middle East, Greece and Ukraine, Regional Director of Market Development and Innovation in Turkey, CIS countries, Georgia, Ukraine, Balkan Countries, Middle East and Africa. In addition, Uzel took on the responsibility of Turkey and Iran (NE&CA) Regional Board Membership between 2011-2016.
Uzel got involved in business development, internal and external trainings, innovation, project management, technical support, investment planning & management fields within the scope of sales and marketing activities in industrial mineral, paper, plastic, packaging, paint, adhesives and construction chemical sectors.
During his tenure, Tolga Uzel initiated R&D projects in the sectors he worked in, and organized the commercial activities of the products he designed in Turkey and the global market. He introduced many innovative products and new applications to the Turkish market. Uzel, who also has low-cost equipment designs, has contributed to the sustainable growth of the company by increasing the market share of the regions where he worked in every position. He received the highest rankings in customer satisfaction surveys every semester. In 2018, he was awarded the most creative employee of the year by the Turkish organization of the company.
In addition to his professional life, Tolga Uzel started his music career with drum lessons which followed by saxophone playing in the following years. He took stage with his band at the prestigious jazz festivals of the country and his an unreleased album. Seeing art as a source of creativity for all areas of life, Uzel has been interested in photography as an amateur in recent years, in addition to 30 years focus in music.
Believing that professional and private life feed each other, Uzel founded Viria in 2020 with the aim of sharing all his earnings with the professionally focused sectors and growing together.
